eco plus apparently doesnt work with older wion devices anymore. according to chat with woods.

Ok I downloaded the ECO PLUS app and followed the instructions and was able to successfully add my 2 devices. Bloody scammers. If they knew that would work why try to scam us out of $50?! And why not put that instruction on their website?! Anyone never buying any more devices from this company.

This is criminal! I have almost two dozen of the Woods WiOn devices. Now GARBAGE!!? I changed phones and cannot get the app. It still works on my iPod. Why isn’t this illegal? Late stage capitalism? Screw the customers over then just abandon them? So disgusting!!!

Ok, I take it back. From reading the other ‘ victims’ posts, I learned to downloaded the ECO app, and I have some connectivity. Now I need to add the others from remote locations 100+ miles away. But, it’s a start. Thank you!

WION tech wanted to charge me $35 for a software solution. I bought these units for its functions in 2019 regulate lights. WION deleted the app rendering the devices useless. At this point I’ll have to throw out both smart plugs & never pick up another WION device if this is how treat customers. Lastly the tech I was speaking to hung up on me!

I usually only connect to my devices during Christmas. I tried today while putting up my lights and received a message stating that WiOn Woods is no longer available in App Store. I called and was told Apple no longer uses the app, but for $50 WiOn would provide an app for use. Such BS! I’ve had all my devices fir 6 years and now they are garbage, as I refuse to lay them $50.

I got a new Iphone 16 Pro Max and of course had to install the latest update. Luckily I didn't remove my Wion App but it would no longer work. I installed the ECO plugs app and not only did it work upon registration but it captured all of my information from the Wion app that wasn't working. YAY! and Thanks!

Pls tell me more about what you did. I tried the EcoPlugs app, but it does not see either of my two plugs. Any hints? I know that originally, when I plugged in the device, the blue light kept flashing until I was able to get my phone connected to that device's wifi signal. But now, the blue light flashes for just a couple of seconds, then remains on - and my phone can't find its wifi. Would greatly appreciate any help you may have: Randy 204-899-6833

After iOS 16 screwed the WiOn app (wouldn't make initial wifi connection) I installed the ECO Plugs app which worked perfectly & the same process as WiOn. Now with my switches connected & working with the ECO Plugs app - then the WiOn app found them as well. Just noticed WiOn app has updated to 1.26 which is supposed to have fixed the iOS16 bug but haven't tried renewing connections with it.

It’s back!! I’ve been monitoring this thread hoping for an update but just checked the app and all my Wion devices showed up. (iOS 16.1.2)

I just updated to 16.1.2 and it still doesn't work. I contacted WiOn chat and asked if they were assuming Apple was going to make their OS work with the WiOn app or if the WiOn app would be updated - and then followed with the question - should I just buy some other product. The response (with lot of points for honesty) : "As wion has no official support , I can not provide you any information for app update. I will recommend you to choose another option."

Devices disappeared on WiOn app after IOS upgrade to 16.1.1 Stuck on "Looking for router" to choose a network. Contacted WiOn technical support and stated that the IOS version I have is not compatible. I asked when the update will come out. The answer was "Soon" and mentioned that I will have to wait for the next Apple update :(

Same iOS16 problem. Took my iPhone & iPad to Apple for “Genius” support - no, they cannot back OS out to iOS 15 (real genius, eh). Apple manager insists it’s an App problem that must be fixed by Woods

How long does it take to get IOS 16 support? I been using these device for over 4 years. Recently add 2 extra device for Christmas decoration. Really bad timing on their slow IT support.

No longer working with ios 16 According to Woods support, the WiOn App is no longer compatible with Apple iOS or Android. WiOn Devices are now useless! Woods is blaming it on Apple. Customers loss… Support told me to go buy TP-Link devices. Time for a Class Action Lawsuit!

This item WILL NOT work outside your local network. Doesn't matter if the cloud is enabled. As soon as you go from your local network to LTE...it's gone. Worthless if you can only control if from your home network, I can do that in person.

Works fine over wifi. When I first bought it two years ago, it worked over mobile. It does not anymore including with the device it first worked on. Cloud symbol shows up but cannot connect over 3G, 4G, or LTE on iPhone 4, 4s, 5c, 7s. So that is four different iOS versions.

Where is the website with a list of all the WiOn products, and with a description of the products? How many products are there, and what can they do?
